I must apologize for the delay in posting. The sunshine has been amazing, and I’ve been juggling my responsibilities. Regardless, Wednesday was the start of our glorious weather.
I picked up my buddy Pippa, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, and we set off to find a new trailhead. I haven’t started a hike off Cypress Bowl Road. So up the road we headed. We were fairly high up the mountain when I spotted a couple of vehicles on the side of the road, we pulled over and started our hike.
Unfortunately, we very quickly found ourselves in the cabin area of Cypress. This area has always been a bit mysterious to me. For those of you who don’t know, as the name implies, there are cabins tucked away in the forests of Cypress Mountain. It’s incredibly rustic and quaint, it’s one of those spots I could only dream of living. Anyway, I vaguely knew where it was. But it’s also a no go for commercial dog walking. So I kept Pippa on leash for longer than usual as we passed through the cabin area and into the forest. Needless to say I won’t be able to start from this trail with the other dogs.
Cabin area mishaps aside, the walk was glorious. We found ourselves in familiar territory as we touched along the northern parts of our usual turnaround points. It really is beautiful out there. We’re very lucky to have such lush greenery at our doorstep. There was still lots of mud for Pippa to play in. We had a great time.
