The weather has certainly changed in Vancouver. Gone are the warm dry days, replaced with cool wet days.
For hiking this can be a really fun thing. The cooler air keeps you from overheating. It also means we can vary our route a little more as we don’t have to hit certain water spots. With the dry weather we had been hiking up and down Brother’s Creek Trail pretty regularly as there are a couple of water stops along that route.
For a change on Friday, we hiked up Brewis Creek then cut across to Brother’s Creek. I have to admit I wanted to see what all the rain had done to our usual spots. So we hiked up along Brother’s Creek to check it out.
Flooded is the short answer. We walked right by a couple of our usual spots as water levels were too high. Took some photos as we passed by and we did have a quick stop at the lake.
We all had a great time. It was one of those days I love my job. The pack energy was upbeat and playful. Everyone spent lots of time running around sniffing the new smells of a refreshed forest. Millie couldn’t resist joining in the fun early on. It’s great to see her become part of a pack. Big thanks to my four legged adventurers for being such awesome hiking buddies.
