On Tuesday April 2 we had a gorgeous day and a four pack of dogs that included Karma the Desi Dog, Nyssa the Husky / Malamute, Winston the Aussiedoodle and Petey the American Bulldog. Our pack is pretty evenly split between mellow dogs and active dogs. Winston is our bouncy energetic pup. He really wants to chase after Karma. Sadly Karma finds him a little intense and would prefer to keep some distance. For the time being it seems to work best if Winston is leashed to me (at least to start) so we can keep moving forward. Karma stays closer to the group this way. Once Winston mellows out and I will be able to drop the leash. Today he was just really focused on chasing dogs who didn’t want to be chased. So he was on the long leash. Overall he is getting better and having longer periods of calm. Our little muffin.
Petey is our other leashed dog. He’s really attentive for the most part and doesn’t really understand why he’s not allowed off leash. (It’s because you scare people by running at them buddy) Once his nose has healed we can start to try different muzzles. Until then. He needs to be on leash with me. Though he appreciates the little extra freedom with the long leash.
Miss Nyssa was a dream. She wanders through the forest, sniffing and smiling as she goes. A nice balance to the pack.
All in all it was a great hike
