Ah the exuberance of youth.
Wednesday’s pack consisted of Logan and Beckem the Goldendoodles, Winston the Yellow Labrador Retriever, Nila the Desi Dog and Pippa the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon.
Logan and Winston have very similar energy. They’re both young active males. Logan is 15 months and Winston is two. The two of them love to play with each other. Tug and chase are their favorite games. No one else plays it with the same level of intensity. They’re a good match for each other. Though Nila doesn’t join in the games of tug, she does join in the games of chase. The three of them (Nila, Winston and Logan) love tearing around the forest after one another.
Our elder dogs in the group, Pippa and Beckem. Prefer a more dignified approach to the walk. As the young’ens ran around, Pippa and Beckem would stick near by. When the youngsters had tired themselves out, Pippa and Beckem explored the forest more freely.
Which got me thinking, perhaps its time for a mature dog group. A less intense walk restricted to dogs over 5. The young’ens need to run, but the mature folks deserve a peaceful walk in the forest as well. Ah the exuberance of youth, you don’t realize how intense you are.
All in all it was a lovely walk in the forest.
