On Tuesday March 29 we had a lovely sunny day and a great group of dogs. Our pack included Drift, Stella and Wilbur the Border Collies, Petey the American Bulldog, Winston the Aussiedoodle, Nyssa the Husky / Malamute and Karma the Desi Dog. We headed to Ballentree Park to enjoy the gorgeous day.
The dogs were happy to be out in the sunshine. There was a lot of sniffing around and checking out the sights. Nyssa, Karma and Stella were happy to wander through the trees at their easier pace.Though Stella did try to get me to throw her a few sticks. Winston tried to get Wilbur to play with him but Wilbur wasn’t interested. There were too many smells to investigate!
Lucky for Winston, Drift was happy to play with him. Well maybe not at first, but then Drift will break loose and wrestle with him. We’re working on calming down when I ask. Sometimes it’s all too exciting and if one dog feels its ok to start nibbling, then everyone thinks its ok and the whole pack gets going. Luckily everyones manners are coming along great and Winston and Drift had a great time.
Petey was on leash with me. He does very well with all the excitement that goes on. I can still tell when he spots someone further down the trail, we’re always working on keeping him calm when we meet strangers. Sometimes other people just want to enjoy the trails too buddy!
All in all it was a great hike on a gorgeous day.
