Sometimes you need a good strategy. On Wednesday April 29 our pack consisted of regulars Logan and Beckem the Goldendoodles, Stella and Emma the Border Collies and Bailey the Golden Retriever.
Bailey is getting a little older. It means he is getting a little slower on the trails but he still loves walking around in the woods. He doesn’t play chase as much but he still loves being involved in a good game of stick. There just needs to be some strategy involved.
Technique #1. Stand near the stick thrower and see if they lob an easy one your way.
Technique #2. Go to where the majority of the sticks are being thrown. Grab it before the other dogs get there.
Both techniques worked for Bailey. I love how involved in the pack he is. His younger cohorts ran after many sticks had a great time exploring the forest. Stella collected as many sticks in her mouth as she could and Emma barked in glee with every toss of the stick. Logan and Beckem had a few rounds of chase. A great walk indeed.
