Saturday was a sunny day and I had Pippa, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, and Lola, the Jack Russel Terrier Pomeranian Mix, as my fellow adventurers. As I only had two dogs with me I thought it would be a good opportunity to try and find a new trailhead. We headed off to West Vancouver. My plan was to try and find Nelson Park and start our dog walk there, but as we were driving in one of the neighbourhoods I spotted a small trail sign leading off into the woods. The trail looked rugged and promising so I pulled over and got the girls out.
The trail WAS rugged and gorgeous. For about 10 minutes. Then we popped out of the woods and into another neighbourhood. I asked a couple of locals if there was another trail in the area. There was. So we walked among all the lovely homes until we found another trailhead. We ended up on Skyview Trail. The trail isn’t rugged at all consisting of crushed gravel, but the views were lovely. We made it all the way to Glen Eagle Golf course before we turned around and headed home. It was a nice long walk in the sunshine, though I don’t think we’ll do it again (me and the girls prefer the rough stuff). However if you have mobility issues this is a really nice trail to check out. I would recommend starting at Glen Eagle Golf Course as there is a small section which is not crushed gravel if you walk from the other direction.
The view was so lovely.
