On Thursday September 24 we had a medium sized pack and a cloudy, but dry day. Our pack included Nyssa the Husky / Malamute, Petey the American Bulldog, Brando the German Shepherd and Rosie the Duck Toller.
Well today was the day that Rosie decided she would explore with the other dogs. In particular she was up front with Petey. I always find in interesting to see who the dogs form good friends with. Rosie has decided that Petey is a good dog to be near when she’s unsure. Petey has lots of energy and isn’t afraid to play rough, but he seems to understand that isn’t what Rosie likes. He’s super gentle around her, not really paying too much attention to her, but allowing her to be near. It’s behaviour like this that earns him the nickname Sweetie Petey.
Nyssa as usual was happy to explore in the forest. She got in her few rounds of chase with Petey. I love seeing the big grin on her face. Brando was on leash with me for the first part of the walk. He was super excited to play with his friends and I was worried he would be a little intense. After a bit of time on leash to burn off the energy and settle into the hike he was free to wander with the others.
We had a great time and didn’t get too muddy.
