Muzzle Break

On Friday June 5 we had a small pack and a sunny day. Our pack included Wilbur the Border Collie / Flatcoat, Tobey the Labradoodle and Petey the American Bulldog. We headed to Cypress Falls for our hike and to enjoy the day.

Petey needs to wear a muzzle on our walks or be on leash. The muzzle is a preferable option (though Petey may disagree) as he gets to run around and chase all of his buddies. He’s pretty good, but needs the muzzle on the off chance he decides to be bad. Petey doesn’t feel like he needs the muzzle and will often try to get it off. Well today he succeeded as the muzzle broke. Which meant Petey needed to be on leash. :( He didn’t mind that too much as long as we kept moving. Though every once in a while he really wanted to run with his buddies. So he expressed his frustration by playing leash tug. Not a game I want to play. We sorted ourselves out. We’ll have a new muzzle on Tuesday and will be able to let him burn off his energy again. :)

Tobey was our mellow dog of the group. He kept me company and made sure to collect lots of cuddles. Wilbur was his usual excited self. Running around through the forest, Wilbur would forget that Petey was on leash and try to get him to play. They’ll have a great time next week when Petey has a new muzzle. All in all it was a great walk with happy dogs!

  1. Always enjoy watching the video of Wilbur and his pack mates. They seem to have a wonderful time running around, swimming, rolling in the dirt and playing “chase me” with a stick. Wilbur comes back happy and well-exercised for the day!
