On Tuesday August 25 we had a smallish pack and a sunny day. Our pack included Nyssa the Husky Malamute, Drift the Border Collie, Petey the American Bulldog and Winston the Aussiedoodle.
Winston is our lovely doof-a-doodle. Although he really likes to nibble on his packmates ears. His packmates don’t seem to mind the nibbles, but one of these days Winston may get more of a reaction than he’s hoping for. So we’re working on his manners. He is getting better (before he wouldn’t listen to me at all) but still needs the occasional leash time to bring the energy level down. It means a little more yelling than I like but I make sure to make it up with lots of good boys when we’re hiking along.
Drift must have the most delicious ears in the group as he’s Winston’s favourite. Though to be fair Nyssa is too dignified to tolerate Mr Nibbles advances and Petey doesn’t really have ears (though Winston likes to lick them as best he can). Drift is a good sport and likes to get as dirty as he can. But it’s nice to watch them run around together.
Petey likes Winston’s energy and often tries to play chase with him. There can be a lot activity as Petey, Winston and Drift run around.
Nyssa is the dignified lady of the group. She explores the forest at her own pace. Though she enjoys a good dig in the dirt with the rest of them.
All in all it was a great hike.
