One of the best parts of my day is deciding where we’re going to go for a walk. Today I decided we would start at Ballentree. It’s not as popular as Cypress Falls, so I thought it would be a nice break for Millie to go out and get away from it all.
We started just as the sun rose. I let Millie off leash again. The sounds of our footsteps crunching the morning snow created a soothing tempo.
The nice thing about starting early is there is fresh snow wherever you look. For a short while you can pretend you are the first person to walk in those woods.
It’s hard to describe the peace of those moments.
We met two other packs when we were on our way down. Millie was very well behaved, continuing to let other dogs come greet her. It’s nice to see.
While we were walking on skyline there were dozens of birds on the trail. A small reminder how much wildlife is just outside our doors.
I apologize in advance for the shaky-ness of the video. It was a neat moment to be surrounded by birds.
