It was yet another sunny day in Vancouver. It feels like summer has finally arrived! I was glad our walk was first thing in the morning. With the sunny weather it’s harder to find water sources, and it gets HOT! So it’s nice to exercise in the cool morning air.
This morning we had Millie the Formosan Mountain Dog and Pippa the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon out for an adventure. We hiked up a section of the Trans Canada trail. I have a love hate relationship with the Trans Canada Trail. I love the idea, a trail that stretches across the length of Canada. But the implementation wasn’t so good. There isn’t really a set standard on what the trail is like. Some of it is paved, some of it is really wild. This particular section was part of an old road. We turned around when we ran into construction
That being said we had a great time. Pippa and Millie switched off walking next to me. On the way out, Millie kept close and Pippa was out and about sniffing everything (she flushed two grouse). On the way back, Pippa stuck closer and Millie, well watch the video to see what Millie was like at the end.
Sadly Millie also hurt on of her nails on this outing.
We’re sending her lots of get well soon energy and hope for a speedy recovery.
