Ahhh. The glories of fall. It’s certainly our favorite time of the year to hike. The sun is shining, the trails are relatively dry, yet it is cool enough to hike without overheating. The dogs certainly appreciated the weather combo and were running and rolling all over the mountain.
Our pack of merry adventurers included Beckem and Logan the Goldendoodles, Stella the Golden Retriever and Maxie the Bichon / Shih Tzu.
Stella loves rolling in the dirt. I’m happy that she likes the smell of dirt and pine needles (rather than something we humans would consider gross).
Logan kept trying to entice his packmates to play stick tug with him. He’ll run around with a stick in him mouth. But he’ll hold it at the very tip of the stick so there is lots of room for his buddies to grab on, should they so desire. He’s come a long way with his manners. A subtle shift from “you must play with me” to “You sure you don’t want to play with me it will be lots of fun! Look I have this great stick!”
Beckem and Maxie were happy to be out running in the forest. While they aren’t big on stick tug, they were happy to chase after Logan and Stella.
A great hike indeed.
