On Thursday August 13, we had a full pack of dogs and a sunny day. Our pack included Bogie the Golden Retriever, Karma the Desi Dog, Nyssa the Husky / Malamute, Brando the German Shepherd, Petey the American Bulldog and Jaspaa the German Shorthaired Pointer.
Brando was really excited to go on his adventure. He really loves Winston, but Winston wasn’t on an adventure with us that day. Instead we had Jaspaa the German Shorthaired Pointer. Brando was just as excited to meet Jaspaa, though Jaspaa can be a little shy. It’s amazing to see how much Brando has started to enjoy his walks.
Jaspaa spent the first part of the adventure on leash with us. She’s still getting used to the pack and she’s still learning how these adventure things work. She spent the second half of the walk with the leash dropped. She was all through the forest and is going to be a great adventurer. She’s very athletic and it’s great to watch her leap and bound through the trees.
Bogie, Nyssa and Karma were also all over the forest. Bogie found a few good spots to roll in the dirt. Karma explores the forest but she never seems to be too far from her friend Nyssa. Nyssa wanders around with a happy grin on her face. Petey loves being up front, he’s getting really good at greeting strangers. He’ll start to run towards them, but will stop and turn around when called. It’s really great progress from where we first started. He’s a big softie at heart.
We enjoyed our water breaks and all the dogs made sure to get a good cuddle. It was a great hike!
