Wow! What a day.
Summer has finally arrived in Vancouver. This morning was blue skies and sunshine. We had a great pack with Pippa the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, Lola the Jack Russell Terrier/ Pomeranian mix and Dillon the Lakeland Terrier. We set off in search of a waterfall today, I knew of a one in the area but hadn’t been able to get to it due to snow or high water conditions. But today we found it! There were lots of water stops along the way and the dogs had a great time splashing around.
The three of them have great energy. Sometimes I feel like I am watching synchronized dogs as they move together. Great fun! The first scene in the video is a great example of synchronized dogs.
This walk was Dillon’s third walk with us. He’s fitting right in! Lola matched his playful energy and he loves following Pippa around.
Today was also a big milestone for Pippa! By my record she has hiked over 300 km! I’m sure she has hiked well over 300 km, as I’m the one carrying the GPS and she does laps around me most of the time. Our new website is going to make it easier to see how much each dog has hiked with Wagging Trails. I’m very excited. Hopefully the next time you read this it will be on our new site!
Our hike was lovely, I was thankful we were walking in the cool of the morning. Mindful of the dogs overheating we tried to stay near water. With the pause in the rain the usually plentiful streams are drying up (don’t forget to pack water when walking your dogs!).
Check out where we wandered using the GPS player below!
