In Like a Soaked Lamb
We had a small group of three dogs in our pack for our first walk in March. The lucky adventurers were golden retrievers Bailey and Stella and goldendoodle Logan. We started our hike with dry skies, though we knew the probability of getting caught in the rain was high (there was a rainfall warning in effect). Our route was limited by slushy snow being washed away by the rain in the north, and swollen creeks and rivers to the east and west.
The dogs didn’t seem to mind the weather. It certainly added an adventurous element to our walk. We cut our walk walk a touch short. We were drenched, muddy and happy. A great day. In spite of the rainfall warning. March is supposed to be ‘in like a lion, out like a lamb’; our group was enjoying the rain way to much to be reminded of the ferocity of a lion. In like a soaked lamb seems much more appropriate.
