On Friday June 26 we had a full pack of dogs and another hot sunny day. Our pack included Petey the American Bulldog, Logan and Beckem the Goldendoodles, Tobey the Labradoodle, Wilbur the Border Collie / Flatcoat and Kili the German Shepherd. We headed to our favourite summer trail, Millstream Park, to beat the heat and enjoy a few splashes in Lawson Creek.
Last walk (Thursday) we tried a new muzzle for Petey. He was wearing through his old one and we managed to find a cage style muzzle that should be more comfortable. We’re discovering Petey has a bit of an odd shaped head (we love it) and needed to punch a few more holes in the collar to make it fit. Well, we didn’t make it quite small enough. So Houdini Petey managed to slip it off and lose it in the forest. So back to the old one it was!
Muzzle issues aside we meandered through the forest at an easy pace. Everyone loves being outside, but the warm weather means we all move a little slower and appreciate the water breaks even more. Kili is getting more and more comfortable with his friends. Tobey made sure that I had company, while Wilbur convinced everyone he could to play chase. Logan happily chased Tobey while Beckem joined in for a few short rounds. All in all it was a great hike!
