We had a bit of luck on Friday’s walk, the rain stopped for most of our walk. But there were lots of little waterholes for the dogs to play in.
Our band of merry adventurers included Pippa the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, Millie the Formosan Mountain Dog, Golden Retrievers Bailey and Stella as well as Goldendoodles Logan and Beckem. Full pack!
All the rain from the last few weeks has left lots of little rivers and ponds to swim in. Each dog enjoyed splashing in the puddles, though some more than others (Stella especially).
It’s great to see the doggy friendships develop and shy dogs come out of their proverbial shell. One friendship that’s surprised me but is so amazing is Bailey and Millie.
The first time Bailey met Millie he calmly walked right up to her and leaned against her as if to say, “hey don’t worry about me, let’s just chill”. Millie is a dog who really wants to be social, but she doesn’t always know how. Bailey seems to sense this and has taken it upon himself to help Millie “learn the ropes”. Note in video how he puts himself between Logan and Millie when their play gets a little rambunctious to keep the mood light and playful.
I love these dogs. All of them! They’re so great and they give me the opportunity to play outside. I couldn’t ask for a better job.
Until next time.
