On Friday July 24 we finally had a break in the hot dry sunny weather. While we enjoy a dry day as much as anyone else, the Vancouver area has really needed the rain. It was nice to pull out the rain gear and get nice and muddy for the day.
Our pack of muddy dogs included Logan and Beckem the Goldendoodle, Wilbur the Border Collie/ Flatcoat, Petey the American Bulldog, Tobey the Labradoodle and Kili the German Shepherd. There was lots of energy in this group and soon almost everyone was playing chase. The game was getting a little intense so some of the dogs took turns on leash to keep the energy level at a manageable intensity. Everyone was having a lot of fun and everyone was nice and tired by the end of the walk.
The clasp on Petey’s muzzle broke so we tried tying it for the first bit of the walk. It didn’t work too well so we pulled one of his old ones out of the bag. He certainly prefers the basket style and we’ll have it back on him the next time around.
All in all it was a great hike in the rain.
