On Thursday June 25 the sunny days continued. We had a full pack of dogs and headed off to Millstream Park to beat the heat and enjoy the day. Our pack included Nyssa the Husky / Malamute, Petey the American Bulldog, Drift the Border Collie, Karma the Desi Dog, Bogie the Golden Retriever and Winston the Aussidoodle.
Winston was extra excited to see his friends today. All of the dogs were his favourites. He loves chasing after Petey, then Drift, then Bogie, then Karma then back again. (He knows Nyssa will chase, but not be chased). With all that excitement we needed to have some leash time to bring it down a notch. If everyone was at his level we’d be a crazy pack! He did really well with the down time. It’s tough being so friendly sometimes!
In between the rounds of chase the dogs had a great time chewing sticks and digging in the dirt. The fresh dirt provides a nice cool spot to lie down on. We keep the digging restricted to a couple spots and fill the holes back up as best we can. We like to leave the trails in as good a shape as we found them. Though sometimes the dogs don’t understand why I fill up the holes so they ‘help’ by digging it out again.
Regardless, we had a great time hiking, watering, digging and playing with sticks. Fun fun!
