On Tuesday April 21 our pack was mostly black and white dogs. It’s funny how they color coordinate some days. Our pack included Nyssa the Husky / Malamute, Karma the Desi Dog, Petey the American Bulldog and Winston the Aussiedoodle.
It was one of those days where half our pack was on leash and the other half ran free. Petey needs to be either muzzled or on leash. His nose has been slowly healing from a past muzzle we used. So he’s been spending his time on leash. He’s been getting a little frustrated as he’s a good boy (other than his dislike of some strangers) but we have to be safe. Just a little longer buddy then we can try a muzzle again.
Winston on the other hand is on leash because he’s still a bit of a party animal. He has a tendency to chase after other dogs in the pack. Only he picks the dogs who’d rather not play chase and then doesn’t listen when I tell him to leave them alone. Ah Winston, such a friendly guy. We’re working on bringing his energy down so he can run free with his buddies.
Nyssa and Karma peacefully explored the forest. Once Karma realized Winston couldn’t force her to play chase she relaxed and walked closely with the group. Nyssa alternated between exploring the forest and coming up for pets. All in all we had a great hike!
