On Friday we had a full pack of dogs and a misty day as we headed off into the forest. Our pack included Kili the German Shepherd, Beckem and Logan the Goldendoodles, Petey the American Bulldog, Tobey the Labradoodle and Lily the Husky / Lab mix.
Though it was misty out we managed to miss the rain. Lily was new to this pack but she settled right in. It was nice for the boys to have a girl around (besides me)! Kili spent the walk on leash with me. He’s been a little excitable with all his friends around and will nip at his packmates on occasion. He did very well this walk, listening to my calls of gentle and leave it. We’ll continue to see how he does, but we were very happy with him this walk.
Logan, Beckem, Petey and Tobey are old hiking hounds. They’ve been on a number of adventures. Tobey tried to get Kili to play at one point, which was nice, but Kili was still on leash with me. Tobey is always trying to get everyone to be together so it’s not too surprising he’s taken an interest in Kili. Beckem and Logan were content to explore the woods at a more leisurely pace. Checking out their favourite trees and bits of dirt. Petey was up front exploring at least this time he didn’t find something stinky to roll in.
We had a great time in the forest. It certainly felt like fall!
